I need to get a repair manual, any recomendations on who makes the best one? Thanks, O yeah I have a 77 f-150 with a 351-m, putting a 400 in it. Thanks again.
I couldn't get it from Helms. They seem to be mostly GM. If I were looking I'd get the CD rom from this site, if I had a computer. Then again if we had some cake, we could have cake and ice cream, if we had some ice cream.

I had considered the cd roms but I dont have a computer where I'm working on the truck. Also how easy are the factory manuals to read. I'm not totally incompetent but still kind of a novice. Are chiltons kind of lame or ok?
Bill_Beyer is correct. You should be able to get a Ford shop manual from this site's on-line store. I dont know why I mentioned looking at Helm Inc. my apologies.

You can print out pages from the CDROM, if your computer isn't convenient to where you work on the truck. Me, I just don't like a lot of greasy fingerprints on my keyboard.
The Chiltons and Haynes manuals are adequate for a lot of common maintenance and repair tasks, but the OEM manuals (which were originally published by Helm) are much more detailed and comprehensive, and their hard number data (e.g., torque specs) are less prone to error.
