Question on the TransGo tugger- have you got it in yet? How hard was the install, and are you happy with what it accomplished? Also, does anyone know if the Tugger is compatible with a BTS or JW VB, or would the VB be overkill on top of the Tugger kit?
I only did the kit. No need to do both because the mod'ed valve body is basically this kit installed in the accumulator VB. The difference with the Tugger is that you actually mod more than just that VB. You also pull the main VB out and the solenoids as well. If you put the full Tugger kit in, you also pull the tranny and pump to do a couple mods in it too. I didn't do that part, so mine is basically everything you can do accessing only the bottom part. TransGo also makes a "plain" shift kit for about half the cost of the Tugger, but I don't know what the difference is.
BTW, the plate you get with the BTS accumulator VB is a TransGo plate that Brian drills out himself. I also drilled mine per the instructions and am VERY happy with it now that I got my DP re-burned for it. Put this kit in and have the SW tweaked to match and you won't ever want to drive a stock truck again...
