Seems nothing I do changes my MPG. I change my fuel filter at 15K, oil at 5K, air filter more often than it's needed. I can feather the accelerator and stay below 2000 RPM. I calculate my MPG by hand and it nearly matches my overhead computer perfectly. The best I have ever gotten is 16.5. I am open to ANY suggestions as to what to do, check, replace, add etc.

What gears are in your truck? That could make a huge difference.

At the risk of getting flamed.... I don't know. How can I find out and I'll post it here.

The code will tell you on your driver's door pillar. If not there is a mechanical way to do it, but a PITA to do, but if you don't find it with the code, I'll post how to do it.

Dave, where abouts are you in SC, I bought a house in the Aiken area, will be moving there this fall. The gear ration can also usually be found on a tag on the rear differential bolts, but also by vin number, I had someone on here look mine up for me as well.

Thanks Markadeck,

Give me an idea what to look for on the door pillar sticker and I'll have a look.

On the door sticker is a place with axle written, there should be a code there, if I am correct. Mine didn't have a code there though.

I live in Florence, Aiken is a nice area.

I can post my VIN if that will help someone tell me.

There's a VIN decoder at the top of this page under articles/specs but it didn't show my rear end. Check the door or look for a tag on the rear end. If that doesn't work it may take someone with dealer access to find it out.

The only thing I saw under Axle is: C1 Does that mean anything?

Did the VIN decoder but it showed nothing about the gear ratio.

Do you really want to know this tonight? For one thing, with a 4X4 you're talking about a grand to change ratio's anyway. If you relax someone will tell you what the C1 means.

I posted my vin before on here to find mine out, " Rotun " Looked it up by the vin number for me. But he's not on right now. I would assume you'd be looking for 3.73's not 4.10's
