windshield trim questions -please help

My rubber trim on my windshield came loose on the passenger side while going down the highway at 75mph. I stopped at autoglass speciaist and the lady said you cant just get new trim as it comes already glued on Ford windshields. Mine is all messed up and to glue it back would look terrible. Please tell me you can get ahold of this trim somewhere. My windshield is like new and I dont really want to replace the whole thing just for the trim. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks Alan

I'd go talk to another glass shop. If your talking about the rubber trim that sits on top of the glass and body, then no it does not come with the glass. I just had my 02 windshield replaced with a brand new car-lite (04 style with super duty on embedded) and it was just a naked piece of glass. The guy reused my original trim. Or i suppose you could get some black urethane and remount it...
