02 Explorer developing a small leak.

When I went out to the garage this morning there was a small puddle under the truck. It is on the driver's side, under the engine compartment and appears to be a lightweight oil, reddish tint. I looked all around, including under the truck and do not see where it came from. Sounds like a leak in the making and would like to head it off before it becomes a big problem. Any suggestions on what the cause is?

Thanks, Tom

reddish fluid is either transmission fluid or power steering. You will need to get this on a lift to locate it, either that or add some fluorescent dye to the fluid.

It could also possibly be anti freeze if you are using the red stuff. Check all fluid levels.

check the transmission lines that screw into the radiator tank on the drivers side, back of radiator. have had one loosen up and drip a little after 150k miles.
