Need Help locating speed and reverse senser

Need Help locating speed and reverse senser

Have a 2000 F250 4x4 sc V10, Installing a Kenwood Navigation and it is call for a speed senser and a reverse senser.

I believe the speed sensor or VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is located in the rear differential housing.

Not sure about the reverse sensor...but I am sure someone will chime in soon.

The VSS signal is available at the Central Junction Box on a GRAY/BLACK wire (C242b pins 14, 21, 22) and on C240 (pin 18 to the GEM).

The reverse signal will have to be picked up under the hood at the trailer relay block. Look for a BLACK/PINK wire that feeds the backup lamp relay coil. The signal will be battery voltage while in REVERSE.

on a 2000 truck just get the vss behind the cluster... much easier then at the ABS module...

it is gry/blk

speed sensor

It's a different application, but it shows the location of the wire.

try this one... much easier then ripping air intake off and stuff

thanks, That way all the connections are in the cab, away from the elements too.... at least for just snagging the speed signal
