Hey we got a Neighbor hood notice that the truck was to loud and we had 30 days to fix it. What jerks who sent it I had to put the muffler on but it still sounds cool
In the '70's I was living in Amherst, NY. a suburb of Buffalo. OJ was my neighbor, I had one of my many drag cars. My house was the most visited by the Amherst PD of any house in the town I believe. The neighbor's made my life so miserable I just sold the house at a loss and got the hell out.
I can't believe it took you this long Jason. I had mine with muffler delete for a few years, untill I put 4" turbo back. There is a difference. Keep it up.

My grandfather landed at Normandy, my other grandfather was in Korea, my father was in the corps from '68-'72, and a HO association can to tell you to put the muffler on your truck?
What is this, Russia?

I have sooo many things I want to do and the wife keeps asking me, "How much does that cost? How much are they charging you for that?" Between her, the lack of free time and good weather, and the plethora of things that I want done, it's hard to make a choice. I have my signal mirrors half wired up with wire coiled up behind my fuse box ready to terminate, I have my cab clearance lights sitting in a box, I want to do the HPX, CCV...etc.
lol, Jason, my wife knows me well. I start telling her all the BS of why I need this or that part for my truck, that she finally tells me WHAT EVER. Those are the words i'm waiting for once she hears enough BS. Then I get the part and all is good. lolTake a vacation and get all that stuff put on.
So, is it legal or illegal to run a straight pipe set up?
Anyone know?
The reason I ask is I just called an exhaust shop here in town to inquire about getting a piece of 4" SST pipe to replace my muffler with and the guy got all excited and almost breathless telling me how illegal it was and how it is against both federal and state law and that any diesel that comes in for a state inspection that doesn't have a muffler automatically fails and on and on and on. When I challenged that he got all puffy chested and said "well I am a licensed state inspector and I will fail any diesel without a muffler".
Anyone know what the law is? The last state inspection that I got the guy opened the hood, looked around, closed it and went for a quick drive and then gave me my sticker.
You guys that have the delete, is it louder inside the cab with the windows shut at any specific speed (i.e. drone noise)? I currently have the 4" straight thru muffler, and while I like the sound, I would really like to delete the muffler altogether, provided I don't get the dreaded highway drone.
