We have the same issue in the UK

UK cars have amber front and rear indicators (turn signals)
It is legal to have flashing red rear indicators on vehicles of a certain age but I am afraid most UK drivers wouldn't realise what they were creating potential for a accident

I got some nice torpedo shaped amber indicators (harley davidson) that I plan to use alongside the ford shield type rear lights
