I just bought Walmart 31x10.5x15LT Dunlop liberator A/T's. I like the 31", but I think the 33" would be better, but I want a pritty extream off road tire that still can pull a good load that fit a 15 x 8" rim. What would be the best tire to get. I have no lift in the truck so far and i was wondering if i need to put one in and/or what size should i put in. I also want desent milage and good power. i was wondering if i should do anything to the motor for offroad ( it's a 302ci ford). i thought of turbocharging it and stroking it to a 347ci, but what do ya'll think? I also was wondering how i could beef up the suspention for cheap (ex. 3-link, hydroshocks, helper springs, etc).
Now that that's out of the way, we need some more info here. Budget? tools you have access to? you're level of fabrication? what are you gonna be doing with the truck?
Seriously man.....(Im not picking on you I just know what Im talking about)
Im sorry but a turbo charged 347 that get good gas mileage and 3 link suspension on a truck that has to pull a decent load?
Do some research. Read some articles. Learn a few things and come back.
Things to point out:
Your front suspension needs much more attention than the rear leafspring setup. The TTB is junk but since you only want 33" tires I guess it will be fine. However 33" tires do not and will not warrant going to coilovers and a link suspension unless you either
A: Have truck loads of money
or
B: Are a highschool kid who doesnt know any better. (nothing wrong with being in highschool or not knowing any better. I was in your same position once and bought thornbirds)
You are also looking at a 10k plus engine and a 3k plus suspension not to mention tranny and drive shaft upgrades a solid front axle gearing lockers tires rims and paying someone to do it because anyone with these types of questions CANNOT sucessfully build a turbo'd stroker and a link suspension alone.
hey yall what happened to the bfg a/t's and i thought i was "pimpin" with my bfg shovel's!!!!! dang i guess i got to upgrade to liberators, how long have i been out of the loop?
I was just rotating the liberators and I tried to throw the humvee tires on, but apparently the bolt pattern is slightly different, so they wouldn't fit on. Looked pretty sweet though sitting in the wheel well.
