Junk yard luck

I've been looking for 2 years now for a good passenger fender for my truck...for the longest time, I couldn't find anything worth carrying home that was better than what I had (mine had a big dent in the front corner. Low and behold...went to Pullapart the other day with some buddies, and found a 66 with a perfect front clip. No dents, just a little surface rust on the underside. Got both fenders and the upper valance for $96. What a great find, I was dreading having to pay a ridiculous price for a repop.

I also have a question....getting ready to do the brake swap on the 66 this spring with the parts I pulled last year. I didn't get the M/C off of the donor truck. It's a 78 f100. Can I buy the booster/MC combo that NAPA sells and use that or will that work on my truck? I guess I need to locate a bracket for that as well? The donor did not have power booster, just manual brakes.

Great score on the front end parts.

The power brake booster will work as long as you have more the 15 Hg/In of vacuum at a direct hook up on the intake manifold. The more vacuum you have the better your brake system will work. As long as the M/C you get works for disc brakes all should be fine there as well. You may also need a combination valve to help distribute the brake load properly if you don't have one already.

Excellent find & price!
Repop? What are you doing, Backwashing a sodapop & paying for it again?
Repro sheet metal is not worth the material they are made from.

I got the only good parts left on this truck. The only other thing worth saving would have been the bed floor. Cab was shot, bumper was gone, hood was rotted on the front edge.
