I just replaced the rear rotors and pads on my 2001 F150 and had the usual wrestling match pulling the rotor off with the e-brake shoes holding fast to the inside of the rotor.
Presently I have no parking/emergency brake mechanism on either side (trashed everything pulling the rotors off) and am not comfortable with that, though it does make a rear brake job much easier.
My e-brake cables are in good working order. Where’s the best (cheapest) source for all the parts inside the hat to make my e-brake functional again?
This is not exactly the same type of parts you are talking about, but i just picked up a complete hardware kit springs adjusters, pins. Everthing for 15 dollars at A.Z. This was for my rear drums on my 98. If thats not possible, take a saturday and head out to a junk yard. Those trucks should be starting to show up by now.
