Well, it`ll cruise at 140 kph with out so much as a murmur, running like a hound and at lower rpms (guess it has real long legs). One of these days I`ll have to find out what gearing it does have.
That`s alot more than just good enough for me, I`m plesantly surprised.
After driving mine tuned, a stock one really seems slow. Some of you know the problems I had with mine so at around 140000 or so problem plagued kilometers in stock trim I added a bit of power. I have ARP's installed so hopefully the headgaskets will hold. I dont run any crazy power programs and it gets warmed up / cooled down properly and serviced at regular intervals. I like to get into the throttle a bit and hear the magnaflow exhaust bark!
200 kph sneaks up fast!
My truck has a 4.10 ratio w/limited slip. I would bet you have 3.73's. On a dually you cant get a limited slip in the 3.73 because its a completely different differential than on the SRW trucks so thats why most duallies have 4.10's. The mileage would be a bit better with the lower rpm of the 3.73 but with the turbo lag of the 6.0, the 4.10 lets it get going when pulling heavy stuff.
I know my truck has 3.73 ls in it, and on the highway she likes to move. When passing someone you really have to be carefull because you hit 140 without even noticing it. I havent even tested to see when the governer kicks in at either.
Oddly enough I have been noticing it seems to get better fuel economy at 120 then at 100.
One of these days when you think of it Morris check your door code.
A stock 6.0 will take a 7.3 in a straight drag but as for pulling power I don't think there is much difference from what I have heard. As for my truck my axle ratio is 3.55 so mine has some long legs and it cruises very nice at just about any speed although the fuel consumption really starts to drop after 120kms.
Those older cars with the big motors do get pretty decent mileage. The one grad car we had, was a big ol four door thing, I cant remember what model, and had a 460 in it. I remember a ton of 7-11 runs to tisdale at 3 in the morning at 100mph!
