okay so i bought a compression gauge from harbor freight part#93644 to use on my 87 6.9 and the adapter it comes with to go in the glow plug hole bottoms out before the treads contact. whats the deal? has anyone used this model before? the adapter has 10x1 threads and is about 2 inches long from tightening nut to bottom of adapter. the instructions say to use this adapter, is it the wrong one or is there carbon build up inside the glow plug holw? damn cheap tools!!
that would cut off the one way valve that holds the pressure reading then. i dont understand why it wont fit the instructions say to use the adapter. anyone else use this adapter?
that would cut off the one way valve that holds the pressure reading then
HUH....... there should be a pressure release valve on the hose end by the guage........ not the adapter.
Check out these adapters available..... http://www.tooldesk.com/products/def...hString+Diesel
Snapon..... adapter

thats what mine looks like except about 3/4 of aninch longer. there is a schrader valve in the end of it that holds pressure and a release valve in by the gauge itself. if i cut it then i would cut off the schrader valve that actually hols pressure. looks like my adapter is too long?
Hello ,remove the valve to see if possibly to run a tap inside the adaptor ,that are the problem with cheap tools, but you are only used for a few times ,
I bought one too. When I saw that the injector adapter wouldn't fit, I found that one of the fittings screwed into the GP hole instead. Since the guage has a pressure holding valve built into it, using the fitting without a valve, and screwing it into the GP hole works just fine....
