2.5l engine block identification

Hello,
Is it possible to tell the difference between a 2.3l and 2.5l block externally?
Thanks

The difference between versions of the 2.3 are mostly related to fuel pump, oil pump and ignition/distributor. The 2.3 and 2.5 share the same block, the different displacement being done by lengthening the stroke. The 2.0 has a smaller bore. There IS a difference somewhere in time with the crankshaft journals.
There is at least one post here that details ALL the differences...

Hi, Welcome to the site!

Here's a link to the thread I believe Tom was referring to:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...-vs-2-5-a.html

Starts off a little slow but the info you need is in there, just read down a bit.

See ya around!
