I just bought an amp for my truck to power the speakers because the aftermarket head unit doesn't have enough juice. The amp i bought is 80x4 rms and I believe my speakers are 120 watt max? Anyway how can I hook this up to the speakers without running different speaker wire? thanks in advance
well depending on where you mount your amp it is simple. if the amp is near or under the dash just cut the speeker wires off the head unit and attach them (the wires TO the speakers) to the amp. or just extend them to where ever your amp is going to be. but it might be simpler to just run new wire that gets close to the speaker and conect it to the OEM speaker wire. but to run the amp make sure that your head unit has out put for an amp. if the head unit doesnt have enough juice to power some speakers it might just be better to replace it. good luck
no the deck would only have OUT puts to the amp, RCA cables. and the speakers wires would be cut on the out put side and then reconected to the amp. from the amp to the speakers, and the wires that come out of the deck for the speakers would go no where.
