351 C weight

Hey all,
Just wondering what is the weight of a Ford 351 Cleveland V8 ready to go? I have an idea its around 550 pounds. Would anyone be able to tell me how the weight is distributed, eg, weight of block, weight of pistions/conrods/crank, weight of heads/valves/tappets, and weight of heads?
I know the 351C can drive a falcon to 0-60mph in 6 + or - a bit seconds easilly enough and reach 175mph witha 4 speed toploader, (Remember the XAGTHO?) but I want to see if I can get a 460 down to or less than the weight of a 351 C and put one in a Falcon. Then we should see acceleration of 5 sec or less. + a 5 speed box should do more than 300 km/h (185-190mph), all fitting under the Falcon's bonnet inconspicuiously enough so that the local cops don't notice the car is any different to normal.
Thanks,
335C

Don't know for sure, but... at least one site lists a 351C as 575 lbs vs 720 for a big block

Yeah, but that was with tall gearing and running the engine to about 8000rpm.

You won't be getting a falcon to go that fast. It's coefficient of drag is way too high.

Where do you live? Most places the 460 would be legal anyhow with an engineer's certificate (in naturally aspirated form anyhow). Don't forget you'll need to swap transmissions as well. Also, it's a good idea to get the front end re-inforced if you are going to be putting that much weight over it. also you will need custom headers as it is a really tight squeeze. But aside from that, GO FOR IT!!! There are two xy utes going around sydney with gt stipes and everything, one has "429-GT" on the side and the other "460-GT" next to the superoo decal

Thanks,

Not calling you a liar but the 6.2 seconds to 100 km/h was done running at 6150rpm or less (XYGTHO was governed to 6150rpm and it had a HELL of a lot more air drag than the modern ones)
Gearing was either 300:1 or 3.25:1 diff from memory and a toploader with a 1:1 on top [4th].
The 175mph was only done on the XAGTHO (which the government never allowed to be released because it was too fast) and it went to about 7000rpm.

Ok I havent tryed the acceleration but I have heard of an XD with a really bombed up clevo doing near on 300km/h but it may have been going close to destruction.

Yeah but I don't want stripes and bages, just a normal looking car from the outside with a modest paint job that will go unoticed but will go like hell when i put my foot down. It DEFINATELY must be legal!!! I want to get away with going on a main road.

Fair enough (about the 0-60 times). Considering my 2v headed 351C XY does it in about 6.4, a 4V headed engine would do it at least that quick. The other day, i was driving next to a stock 4V XY (with headers and carb etc like mine) and he was significantly quicker and able to rev higher and harder. If you can get your big block to rev to 7000 breathing well, it will be a monster!
(The XAGTHO did 175 with rev limiter removed (ie, that was th absolute max they could do). just like the bathurst xy's, which had no rev limiter and went up to about 8000 rpm.)

351 C weight

the 351c block was about 545 pounds, the heads are about 60 pounds, the intake is about 50 pounds. i doubt you can get a 385 series engine close to a 351c in weight.
