Problems starting B2300
I run up to the store a little while ago and when I returned to the truck, it didnt want to start. When I turned the key the dash lights were real dimly lit. If I turned the key off and on several times the light would go from barely to full brightness but still would die out when I attempted to start it.
I called the wife to bring the other vehicle and jumper cables. Even with the cables on when I tried to start it, sparks would fly from the cables. I repositioned the cables and waited for about 2 minutes then it started up.
While I waited for the wife (5 minutes) I found my voltmeter in the toolbox and tested the battery at 11.94 volts and the starter relay had 12 on 2 post and 7 on 1 of the post. While the cables were hooked up I could here something clicking under the dash on the side closest to the middle of the truck. I have never heard that one before.
Any suggestions as what to check next and how?
