happened to me at the lake this morning.Got in my truck to leave and p/wdos did not work, or my instrument cluster. Checked all fuses and relays and could not find anything wrong. On the way home someone pushed the door lock button and everything went back to working. Problem solved right, wrong. Let go of the button and every thing dies again. Please help me I am very confused.
When you say you checked the relays what do you mean? My down and dirty way is to exchange 2 relays of the same type and see if the problem changes. Another thing I would do is have someone push and release on the door lock button while I was trying to hear or feel a relay operating. This may help lead to a starting point for diagnosing this problem. But after saying all this let me tell you I am also confused.
My relay technique is the same as yours. I also discovered that with ign. off and key out the flasher relay clicks and turns radio light and cargo light on and off. With key in ign. and turned off my radio plays.I tried new rlays at all positions with no change
I have an early 99'. I read some search post with similar problems but not all of my problems that lead to steering column wiring problems. I quess that is where I will continue my search.
I found my problem. The kick panel on the drivers side has a ground behind it and apparently I put my foot on it one too many times and broke it.Thanks Guys,
