Hey everyone. Does anyone know the max airflow restriction in inches of water for this engine? It's completely stock. I contacted Ford, but they were no help and just directed me to the Ford Social site. I'm looking to put a Filter Minder on so this is the reason for the request. Thanks for any help.

 

If you can't find official data, you might try installing the device and see what it reads with both a new filter and a dirty filter. Run the engine at full load if possible, as that's where a dirty filter would cause the most restrictions.

 

Not inches of water, inches of hg, which is Mercury. Not sure about a Mass Air motor, but the SD system didn't tolerate much restriction before it would hobble it. If in doubt, change the filter.

 

If you know the value in inches of mercury you can determine the inches of water by multiplying by 13.5, which is the density of mercury.
