96 ranger aggervating

Just my luck 2.3l got motor from junk yard did swap started good ran fine... drive down the road had a jerking almost like a broke tooth on a gear in rearend took it out for a ride this morning jerking everynow and then brought it home.... went out just a short while ago and having a very hard time crankin turns over good a couple of turns then drags then good then drags then spittin and sputtering then finally get started and running very ruff ..but will idle and at some higher rpms will pop out of the exuast...could it all this be a timing jump problem....please help.....im good at motor swaps but not good with inner componants.....

A 2.3 was known for jumping time, the belt dry rots and the teeth wear off

I just replaced the timing belt and now it will run ok for a bit then real rough sometimes when you rev it up it will act like its sticking but its not....could it be the throttle position sensor....any idea? thanks for reply
