Bed step

As I have mentioned in other posts, I am old so I can no longer just hop up into the bed 07 F-150. I have seen some trailer hitch steps but most look like crap. Any good suggestions out there. Wish I had the heavy duty truck trail gate with the folding step that looks like a great addition. Looking for ideas.

Thanks

There are some that fold out from under the truck. I saw one in truckin magazine. I think they hide out of the way until you need them.

We sell some steps, i wasn't sure if you said you wanted a hitch step or not. Like you said if you had SD we sell a toolbox step for those. But anyway i got some pics for you. The valley one is nice and simple, the CARR one is nice to, if the flag doesnt cut it for you there are a few styles.

If you go to the site and search for hitch steps you will see what we have, Hope i helped you out.

If I ever had to get one, I would like to try these out. It doesn't take up your hitch.

I've been looking for one too and I think the debostep is the best option I've found, as I often tow a trailer and don't like the hassle of taking the hitch ball on and off. BUT, what I like about the OEM product is the added handle- something to grab as you step up. I'm a big guy with bad knees and while the step is a nice addition, I'd feel more confident - equilibrium and all - having something to grab on to.

I saw a thread here just the other day where a guy swapped out his tailgate for an 08 model. He did not get the one with the step but that's an idea to explore as well I suppose.

I'd have to look again though, that might have been on a 250 or bigger. Gate swap might not work on a F150. Anybody know? (He did fabricate a new hinge for one side of the new gate in order for it to work, but you could just get that from whatever source you got a gate.)

PS. I wonder too does anyone know how the debo works with lowering the spare tires. Is it in the way?

These days you have to have multi purpose tools, you can use this to put on your work boots too.

Just kidding.

I saw a set of fold away steps that attach to the rear bumper in one of the sponsors sites at the top of the page. I wish I could remember which one.
Truck add ons?
Or was it from 4wheelparts.
I hope you find what you are looking for - I just drive my mini truck now, so I don't need a step to get in! just reach.

This is similar to ones that I saw before.

This looks real interesting. It gives me the step up to the bumper from there it's easy to climb over the tailgate into the bed. Doesn't help if the gate is down, but hey, it's on sale for just $20 with a 30-day money back guarantee. I just ordered one. Figure if I don't like it I can return it, or sell it on ebay.

I saw an ad or a write up(installation) somewhere, but I can't remember.

The actual one I saw can be used with the tailgate up OR down, and it tucks up behind the bumper. It was very compact. I'll keep looking at my older mags to see if I can find it, it was made by a well known aftermarket company.

If you find it please post it here and/or drop me an email or PM. I'd still like to see it, especially if it an be used with the gate down.

been using the BULLY step; matches the side step bars and comes with or without light, but yes you have to take it off for towing of course.
