and cat delete pipe today on 06 PSD. Any tips/pointers ya'll got to offer??? CAnt wait to hear the diff. Already have a 4'' Gibson cat back on. I LOVE BLACK SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tip- pay someone to do it for you. My f350 came with a 4" banks turbo down pipe. I tried to remove it to do some work, I tore the heat shield up on the firewall and still couldn't get it out. I realized the size difference in the oem pipe vs Banks pipe, they had to lift the cab to install this exhaust.
The 06' has plenty of room he won't have a problem with room. Plus if he gets an MBRP he will have a 3 1/2" down pipe

I'm done two MBRP exhaust installs in my driveway with a sawzall and hand tools. Lifting a cab for a DP? That's a new one......
Just remember when you are ready to pull the OEM DP out you will need to push the pipe up to clear the tab welded on the lip of the old DP. This will clear the turbo flange allowing you to remove the pipe.

I've got an '03 4x4, and there was no room to get the down pipe out any other way. My right side manafold and exhaust up pipe where still on. Maybe if the up pipe was off it would help. Either way, I still didn't have any room to rotate down tube to get it out.
If you follow the directions that come in the MBRP box. It says cut the down pipe in half with a sawsall. I did mine in my garage. Needed a few hand tools and a sawsall.
To remove the stock downpipe you do either need to cut it in two or you will need to remove the crossmember under the tranny if you don't want to cut it.
After market downpipes are designed to fit in easier than the stock pipe even though they are larger.
