Smile leaking fuel by front passenger side tire

I glanced under my truck today and there is diesel fuel all over the right side of the axle. There is drips coming off of some kind of black line with insulation and a red wire taped on it. Is the fuel line the smaller grey lines or is it the one im talking about. I cant figure out where its coming from. Im going to look tomorrow morning when its light.

Ever since I got the DP. What am I looking at replacing. Is it from the smoke tune on the DP, puting more pressure on things?

By the way I checked where the fuel filter is it wasnt leaking from there.

Any advice is appreciated im an amateur.

There is a tube from your fuel filter that is used to drain the filter housing of fuel and/or water. There is a valve that sometimes to start to leak if not seated closed all the way, or the seals are shot. The tube is on the passanger side near the front side of the exhaust. It is hard to find.

Nah, it's not the tuner, just a coincidence. Remove the plastic powerstoke cover and you can see all the fuel lines connected to the fuel bowl. You can see the fuel lines leading from the bowl to the top of each head, then one coming up from the fuel pump and the other a return line. Check those fittings. You might need to wash the engine down when it is cold so you can see the situation better. First, check what kawika said, check the fuel drain lever, the o'rings on that are known to leak.

And by the way Dave with a 6 inch lift and 37s what kind of mileage you getting?
Im only getting about 14 with 35s and 6in but all my odometer and stuff is stock. How much does it change that you think?

I second kawika. If you had fuel line leaks there would be fuel in the valley. The drain is not closing properly and the fuel is leaking through the drain tube.

the center part of the engine, the low part under the fuel bowl where all the crap tends to collect

Robin & Dave are right on the money, I read the first post too fast, check that location from the drain tube first, then look at the other areas if this is not the source. The fuel drain lever is on the backside of the fuel bowl. It is a yellow lever and you should have a diagram of it in the owners manual. IIRC Ford recommends changing the fuel filter every 15K - you can get good prices for the filter at www.fleetfilter.com.

i did the O-rings on my truck, i took my time, and i changed the filter out while i was at it. took me like 2 hours, thats with having dinner in between and working slow. worst part was leaning over the engine.

I think thats what it is you guys are talking about. I found a small open tube on the passenger side and there is small drips coming from it. It really isnt that bad. To know how bad it is will it leak more when you are driving than when it is idling?

It will be awhile before I can get it fixed I guess I have to take that fuel bowl out and replace the seals like you said.
