Ford Diesel Wows
Now I know that I am only 20 years old and have only 2 years diesel mechanic experience but from all I have read on this site, and information I have gathered from other diesel mechanics, I have come to one conclusion. And that Conclusion is that once the extended warranty is up on this truck in 2010 the title will no longer have my name on it. These 6.0's in my opinion just are not worth the risk when there out of warranty. What happens when either a egr cooler cracks three months after the warranty is up, or the tranny fails. Sure we here of many getting 100,000+ miles but what about the many more with problems.
I just do not understand Why Ford decided put the VT365 in the trucks and raise the horsepower rating from like 230Hp all the way to 325 on a motor that has 10 head bolts vs the 7.3 which had 18 bolts per head. I know all about the emission standards but the fact of the matter is that the 7.3 would only meet the upcoming 2007 standards. It doesn't matter because ford did what they did and most likely it was not up to the Engineers but left up to Higher Ford management and politics for which we will probably never even know what really happened.
It is just said in my opinion that today manufactures are producing "throw away vehicles", and with the price of diesel now here in california at $4.05 a gallon and the price food and everything else on the rise the economy is sure going to recess soon. But oh well at least I still have the 91, (see signature) my grandpa's truck I inherited in high school. And lets see regular around here is now 50 cents cheaper then diesel
.Oh ya I got invited to go horse back riding this weekend and I will need a realiable not oil leaking truck to pull the three horse trailer, well I guess I will have to use the ole 91.

Hope I don't have problems!
