I was wanting to know if the flex-matic is better or is the leaf spring set up is better. I don't plan on hauling anything. I've got both set ups. I'm putting together a 72 SWB Sport Custom with a 302 C6. I've got it in parts as of now. Also who has a better quality of fender apron gaskets?
With a short wheelbase, I'm not sure if either will make it ride better?
I had the flex-matic on my long bed, but it's been gone so long can't really say it rode any better then my '67 does now.
If you want some improvement in ride, then remove the bottom helper spring out of spring pack and it will allow the longer leaves to give some. I did this on my '69 SB, and it was a noticable improvement. I don't haul any weight.
