I am planning to put Nitto 315/75-16 along with a 6" fabtech lift. From what I understand I will need new rims as the offset on the stock ones are not enough to keep them from rubbing. What question is, what offset and backspacing should I be looking for with a 10" rims? Thanks.
I just got new 16 rock crawlers with 35x12.5x16 Trxus Mud Terrains and they rubbed only ever so slight on the lower dam which i just cut nback a little. I would take it off but then the blocker beam would show. As for spacing I went with very low of 4" backspacing. That swhy the endede up rubbing ever so slightly, but I did not want them to stick out to far either. they stick perfect for me now with my bushwacker flares.
Thats a good point. I don't want them to stick out either. What do you think would happen if I went with 4 1/2 or 4/5/8 backspacing. Since you said that they barely rubbed, would that be enough to keep them off everything with out sticking out much? Could someone also explain to me what exacly offset and backspacing are and the difference between the two?
i do not think with a 35x12.50 tire and 4.5 bs you would run. But they would potentially stand off about 2 inches from the fender. I am guessing this as I would need to measure to be exact.
Offset is the distance from the rim's mounting surface to the centerline.
Backspacing is the inside depth of the rim. It can easily be measured by putting a yardstick across the backside of the rim, and measuring the distance between the mounting surface and the yardstick.
Hope this helps
