the cdr is the tuna can looking thing on the back of the intake. it is held in by two bolts. take it off and soak it in some gas, wash it out real good till its clean gas coming out it. pour as much of the gas out it and let it sit till it dries, do not use compressed air to blow it out with. there is a diaphram in it and it could rupture it.

Looks like this once removed.
That one is off a turbo motor, the NA version has a longer neck to reach down to the valley pan grommet.
CDR stands for Crankcase Depression Regulator
Also when you rinse it out, if chunks of black rubber rinse out it does need to be replaced.

Well I got mine off and got it cleaned, I dont know if its in my head but now the truck smells like a new diesel (Burnt Charcoal smell) Im sure its just in my head...
