4x4 dose not work help!!!
hi, my friend and I are working on his 1998.5,f350,psd.6speed
about 3 months ago when he bought his truck 4 wheel drive worked great, then it went out. He replaced the auto locking hubs and still did not work.
The 4x4 drive light will not come on and you do not hear the transfor case lock in.
i think it is elctecal but not sure all the fuses are good .
if you know anything it would be appreciated.
we need a quik fix if posible we are supposse to get 5-8 in of snow tomorrow.

Check the fuses and relays first. Then if those are good you might check the vacum lines going down to the hubs. Does the heater go to defrost when you try to put the truck in 4X4? Good luck and welcome to FTE.

If it is just a vac leak then manually lock the hubs, hit the switch and you are good to go.
Sounds like more than just a vacuum leak though. No 4x4 light, no sound of transfer case engaging... Fuses, relays, transfer case solenoid... Start checking.
