I realize that ther's probably no reason to drive "on road" in a 4 door F250 at over 95 MPH, but...... When I pay over 40,000 big ones for a vehicle, I should be able to run it (at least once) as fast as she'll run ! My 4door - 5 spd Auto will only do 97. That's not right. The dealer says they can't knock off the top end limit. What can I do? The wife & I love it on the highway, & in the Colorado Rockies (with tow/haul mode). I've had this thing for two years (with vacations in Co.) & been across Mosquito pass & many others, & have never needed an alignment. But, I'd like to run her "flat out" just one time.

A good custom tune from Matt @ Spartan is pretty much undectable. He can write you a tune that will keep everything stock and just cut the top-end limiter off. If thats all you want, it wont add any power

That wouldn't be any fun....
But seriously, a flash tuner is undetectable at a dealership and to void the warranty they would have to send you PCM to Ford Engineers, not likely. But if you do get some new tunes you better get an egt gauge if you want to run those 100+ speeds. My truck has no problem flying past 100 when I want it to. It even handles well at those speeds.
once you hit the governer turn the key like you are trying to start the truck, speedo goes back to 0 and you go a whole heck of a lot faster! If you hold it to long the truck will cut out and then you'll have limited power for a bit also cruise control doesn't work while the truck has limited power, after a bit though it all goes back to normal. The more you do it in a row the shorter it allows it.
Depending on what tires you are running, the cut-off point may be pushing the safety margin for the speed rating on your tires. In other words, if your tires are speed rated R, they have a 106MPH top speed rating. If you add in a load--beyond the ~8,000lbs of the truck itself--you are putting even further stresses on the tires.
Yeah, some guy told my dad and he told me, I tried it out and it works great, if you don't hold it for too long then you don't have any performance loses either

You have got to be kidding right? THIS POST NEEDS TO BE DELETED
You don't even need a custom tune.....I know when I had my SCT Livewire, you could use the canned tunes. You could keep it on stock file, but under the user options you could set or remove the speed limiter.........IMO it's not worth $500+ just to remove the speed limiter........
