Low oil pressure?

Low oil pressure?
Yesterday when we changed the oil I notice now my oil pressure stays on the O on the Normal. But before then it stayed in between the r and m. Should I run a different weight oil? i just put in rotella 10w-40.

mine did the same thing a couple weeks ago when i changed the oil i was gonna try a different oil next time but now that its happened to someone else i kinda wanna hear some reasons to why this could be

Ford oil pressure gauges are notoriously inaccurate. They are a glorified oil pressure switch/ light. I would recommend hooking up a mechanical gauge to see what your oil pressure is really doing.

What was your the oil you used to run? My guess would be a slightly higher weight oil such as 15w-40 which is a commonly used oil in diesels. From what I understand of oil (which isn't much) if you used to run 15w-40 and now are running the 10w40 the oil pressure now should be slightly lower on startup but once warmed up would be nearly identical to the older stuff. The first number is the weight of the oil cold and the 2nd is the weight of the oil at operating tempurature.
