my locks havn't worked with the key since i bough the truck 2 years ago and i worry my clicker will leave me stranded one day. I've sprayed the insideds with penatration oil with out luck. Am i going to have to pull the door panel or what?

I hope someone chimes in about this one. My passenger lock has been frozen for about two years now...

Ask a locksmith how to remove the locks. I would imagine that the locks are hold in place by a U-shaped spring clip but I don't know for sure. You will more than likely have to pull the door panel.

They are held in place with that spring loaded u-clip. Not too hard of a job but small hands helps. Get a set so both drivers and passengers match or talk to a locksmith to see if he can re-key it for you.

I had the same problem, i sprayed penetrating oil in the key lock, and a lot of it... I also put the key in the lock several times to force the oil into the tumplers as they are moving across the peaks and valleys in the key. I let it sit overnight and the next day it moved fluidly, and unlocked every try.

I know you said you already tried it, but putting the key in and removing it a couple times before each spray and spraying it about five times is important to get the oil in where it needs to go, otherwise it will just pool in the key recess and evaporate. Also, if you do this make sure your truck is in a shaded area so the oil has the time to penetrate without evaporating off.

On my '90 4 door, the rear locks wouldn't work...turns out the power lock actuators were stuck. I disconnected the shaft from the actuator...no power locks on the rear doors, but at least I can lock them.

alot of times a brand new key is all you need, not a copy off of your existng key but a fresh key from ford.
your truck might be too old to get the key code from them but if you know the origonal selling dealer they will have it on file. try a new key first.

I had that problem, penetrating oil in not the answer because it attaches dirt. I removed my locks and used brake cleaner on them, lots of it, and haven't had a problem sense then.
