I see the OP is in San Diego, and I also see a California temp sticker in the window. So what I want to know is how is he going to deal with the smog check? The California DMV website says "vehicles equipped with a diesel engine don't require a smog check" but it doesn't say anything about being factory-equipped with a diesel.
Awesome job though. I would love to see a write-up of how this was done.
Sure, as soon as i see him again i will get more pics of this one and on the other bronco with the 7.3. I don't think the DMV gave him a problem with the registration but i am intrigued as well on how he did that.
how much does he want for it? I plan on build mine like that!!!!!!!! that's AWESOME!!!!!!!!! get some video's of it driving, mudding, w/e he does with it. I wanna hear that thing growl
He is not interested in selling it. He is 50 Years old and just love broncos and 6.0/7.3 engines. He does not "wheel" it at all. This guys can make a 6.0/7.3 fit almost anywhere. We are in the process of installing a 6.0 in my 1977 Toyota Land cruiser, can't wait to see the finished result.
WAY Cooooool .... i'm watchin this thread.... I've actually seen a fella in my area with an older bronco swapped over to diesel ... dunno which diesel tho..6.0/7.3..
i was just kidding man, i'll build my own, but it would be AWESOME to get some videos of it on google/youtube!! I am anticipating the 7.3 bronco! thats my favorite engine, reliable, strong, tough, the way fords should be. i dont know if i'd trust a 6.0 enough to go to all the work of putting it in a bronco, but if you got the time and money, it's BADA$$!!!
I know this is an old thread but is there any way to get some more info on these?
Specifically the 6.0?
What motor mounts were needed?
Do you need to use any parts from a diesel truck of the same year like rad support or anything?
Does it need a body lift to clear?
I'm pretty sure these are the ones in a diesel mag but the article doesn't tell me anything I need to know.
Don't need to know anything about the suspension just engine/trans fitment
Very nice... I'm moving in your direction with 40" tires, cut out flares, and serious off-road goodies. How much lift you have on the truck?
Good choice Furian. With cut out flares you can fit 40"s without a lift. That looks cool for the street, however, it will not allow for articulation off road. 4" lift will do the job. I broke 4" rancheros in Moab --- drove it all the way home without noticing. I now run a set of custom Deaver springs (fabulous!!!!) with 6" of lift which gave me enough room for dynatrac's high steer kit.
Good luck and keep me posted. I'll be back in Moab in a couple of weeks and colorado in late summer.
