Blue Smoke
My truck blue smokes when you drive down the road. Thats oil right? Im guessing the rings must be shot also? Would there be anything else besides the rings to make it smoke blue?

It could be the CDR valve. Have you cleaned it?
Are you sure you're not over-filling the crank case with oil? Check the oil with the engine warm a few minues after you shut it off.
Is your air cleaner clean?
Does the engine knock? It should rattle when cold, but then quite down a lot once it warms up.

Ive never checked the CDR valve. I dont even know what it is. sorry im new to diesels
Today I changed the oil with 10w-40 and used a motorcraft filter and got a new filter, Yes when the truck is cold it knocks. I just found out today that the dipsticks are made to check when warm.
