i cant take the lights out as they are the same ones that i use for night driving.
the daylight running uses about 80% power, but when i turn on the light switch they get full power.
it was under the hood, just on the left hand side of the light on the drivers side (as looking from the grill) next to the radiator .
removal was very easy (socket set)
then just undid the little clip for the wire.
you could probably just unclip the wire and leave it there , i only took it off as i will probably never use it again.
3 minute job.
i noticed the resistor i think it is when i bought the truck, but i always thought it was something to to with the aircon units.
if you want a pic explaining where it was , let me know & i'll get one done tommorow (its too dark here at the mo , 9.pm)
Thanks for the information I appreciate it. I will check out my X to see if has the same setup. I hate the way the lights come on by themselves ...all the time.
well i was faced with the problem at the lazer car wash with lazer light rock and roll show.. i was trapped in the auto wash trying to watch the lazer light show as the ex was getting washed and couldnt shut my lights off.. unless i turned the igniton off then i couldnt hear the rock and roll show being brodcast over my radio on their freq.. so the lazer lights were not as spectacular as they could have been with my headlights shining on the scree the lazers project on.
sound like fun , i know what you mean , the drl are bright.
if you unclip the wire running to the fuse (thingy.....i still dont know whats its called )they will go off. and nothing gets damaged , we dont have dlr in the uk , to be honest they are damn annoying and by the sounds of it if you like the darkness at times then you will have to disconnect it.
you will run the truck , the truck will not run you young padwan
The info provided here has been most helpful. I coundnt figure out why my truck had the DRL's, now I understand that I have a Canadian truck here in the US.
Simply disconnected the plug and all is normal, just without the DRL's.
