back up light trouble

I have a 2000 f-250 psd 4x4 crew cab. It's a six speed manual my reverse lights only work once in awhile? Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks.

Maybe your switch to turn the reverse lights on needs adjusting, or the wiring to the backup lights needs repair.
