Hello! I just picked up a Econoline Travel Wagon and am excited to get to work on it. It was sold to me as a 1965 but I am not quite sure. I haven't been able to find info on my VIN at all. If anybody could point me in the right direction that would be great.

More questions to follow I'm sure! Thanks in advance, Andy
This what I was able to decode from a 65 Econoline Shop manual.
E14 - Regular Van
T - 170 CID motor
H - Lorain assembly plant
416126 - Is the build sequence and it seems it was built before August of 1964. So the van is most likely a 1964 van being the serial number is from before the 65 model year.
090 - 90 inch wheelbase
M - Color White
E143 - Regular series Van
A89 - Standard Van
A - C4 Automatic Transmission
01 - 3.50 Gear ratio
The other line is 3600 Gross vehicle weight
85 Horse power at Specified RPM
The remaining numbers are unclear. The 84 may mean the van was Home Office Reserve. Someone else maybe able to confirm this.
So I would say your van is a 1964 Van built around Dec Jan.
If the heater system is locate on the floor and not on the cowl. It is safe to say it is a 64.
As for being a travel wagon, It should have windows, The numbers given say standard van which would be like a closed in van with some to no windows.
By the way welcome to FTE. There is quite a few of us early econo guys here. I have 3 of the trucks, but nothing done to them as of yet.
Thanks for the help. The heater is on the floor so that fits but, as you said it is a full window van. It also has a 3 speed manual trans.? I look around the forum alot the last couple of days and kind of thought it will be tricky. I wonder if Ford sent vans to the Travel Wagon company to be done or if they sent the package to Ford? I'll put some pictures up this weekend weather permitting(flooding!) and let you all check out the new project. Andy
It makes me wonder it someone changed the tags. Look behind the sparetire mount in the van. On the back of the mount is suspose to have the serial number punched into the metal.
Not sure where on the mount. If you can see the numbers with the help of a mirror it should coincide with the tag.
The serial number Is actually on a metal brace behind the sparetire. The brace is front of the rightside taillight. It has the serial number stamped on it. Check that number with the one on the tag. This will then clarify if the numbers you posted are correct.
