I know Yates makes an aluminum head, but I think its for racing only....Not to mention you had have some serious $$$$. I think they go for 2-3k, but not for sure.

The Yates head is designed for W blocks...and no it's not a street head.
LAST EDITED ON 11-Aug-01 AT 08:07 PM (EST)[p]Motorsport does not make much of anything for the cleveland anymore. There is only one place I can think of that makes aluminum heads for the cleveland and they are as much as the yates head. I think the name of the company is blue thunder but I am not sure. My brother knows and I will find out from him whenever I can find the guy. He's in the prime of his partying youth and is hard to track down sometimes.
EDIT: The comapany does advertise in the back of muscle mustangs as well as a couple of other ford based performance magazines.
People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
Take a look at the Brodix BF300 or BF301 heads. They are a high-port head designed to be used with Cleveland pistons (valves in these heads use the appropriate valve angles, unlike the Yates, which require unique, and expensive, pistons) on 335-style blocks (or Windsors, just drill the appropriate coolant holes) These are not a huge, lazy-flowing "4v-style" port, either. The ports on these heads are relatively small resulting in extremely high velocity (great for torque) I am running a set and am very pleased with the results. They even list the flow figures so you can plug them into your Desktop Dyno..... Check them out at www.brodix.com - Don
Blue Thunder does make an aluminum head but it's designed for racing. You can call Blue Oval in Denver and talk to Rob. He'll know all about it. He might know some other sources too.
If you happen to have about $5 grand laying around, and who doesn't, these Arao Engineering Aluminum 4 valve Cleveland heads will do just fine.----->http://www.araoengineering.com/Ford/clevelnd.htm

there was a thread a few months back that had a post about an alloy '3V' head which is made here in Australia... have to check the post to find the info... I think the thread is labelled 'somebody finally stepped up...'
It is an alloy head which uses 4v valves and fits 4v intake and exhaust manifolds, but has port runners smller than 4v's an bigger thn 2v's.
i saw a pair of the motorsports heads on ebay a couple months ago - i think they were called "a3" or something. very expensive. looked a lot like a yates head, but i think it was from the early/mid 80's and had the boss302/cleveland valve angles.
