Is that an offer for a free paint job? Maybe a sponsorship? LOL

Sounded like it to me!!! Say I am doing the same project, need two trucks for body and paint work for the class? Mine needs way more attention. CCs truck looks pretty close to being done already!!

Sponsorship. Hmmm. Would love to, but unfortunatelly I have not hit the Foose status yet LOL!

I can give you a very reasonable price (FTI discount) and top notch quality work though.
Heres a link to some pics Home

I got to come home for the day from my job and played with supercharger placement but soon realized this will be so much easier thanks to the new engine thats on its way.

I couldnt do much so I decided to play with paint, I bought some olive green primer to see what it would look like and I have to say I am pretty happy with it. I like the 2 tone look with the wheels. I am thinking a nice olive green satin paint (not just primer) and either a very dark charcol grey (to go with the gunmetal grey wheels) or with the black thats on there right now. I couldnt move the truck out of the garage right now since the injectors are at sheids right now getting opened up but you can make things out, although the green is just a hair darker than it looks in the pics but not much.

I would like to hear your opinions on it.

It looks good with those wheels. I think the wheels will look good with any paint job you put on it!

sent some pms, and then it dawned on me that I should post the question, and make it part of the thread, so anyone that needs the info doesnt have to ask again

has anyone weighed the crown vic ifs, or the 93 rear diff before installation?

I found a good deal on the set up but need an approximate weight for shipping purposes

thanks for the help

Thanks guys I thnk this is the paint scheme I will go with. I think I might go with a base coat and satin finish clear coat, no gloss here. What do yall think?

The supercharger will be ran with a turbo for a vey unique setup to say the least.

The new engine I bought is just another Isuzu diesel like the one in the truck and will be used to mock things up like transmission adapter, supercharger bracket, serpentine pulley conversion, custom intake manifold, valve cover, header and a few other things. I have alot of ideas so I figured a sparre motor would be a smart buy.

When I get back home in a few weeks I will be starting on the spare cab I have and possibly the bed. I still plan on having the truck show ready by the end of spring.

CC - yeah, I like the color scheme and the satin clear is a great idea!

If I can pick you diesel brain a minute - I've got a line on a 4bd2t that the guy claims has low miles (<50k) but smokes b/c the turbo went bad. I'd guess that means poor maintenance. Should I run or does it sound like a worthwhile candidate? <$800.

Also found another one with 240k on it - ~$600.

I think I'd be better with the low mileage & rebuild it if I have to.

I would watch out for the 4bd2t they crack heads more than I change underwear. They are an indirec injected motor and not all that reliable. The 4bd1t like I run is a super reliable engine that will go 300k plus used and abused miles in a heavy truck (15knpounds) and still keep going all day long, but then again the 4bd1 is getting harder to find and fetches a premium price.

If you buy the 4bd2 at a minimum I would remove the head and have it checked out and replace the turbo with an he341 from an 03-04 dodge truck with 5.9 cummins. The he341 is cheap and plntiful at around $250 for a nice low mileage unit and makes good power.

So if you had to guess (and that's what we'll have to do since we can't see it from here), would you think it sounds like he might have cracked the head? He claims it has a bad turbo & smokes.... As a rebuildable core, is it worth that much?

I would bet cracked head over a bad turbo but who knows till you check it out. The turbos on these things are pretty sturdy the head however go out more often than a cheap hooker. To give you an example I just bought a complete low mileage 4bd2t engine with everything on it including the factory auto transmission, all in good shape with around 80K miles for $400 and the motor runs perfect. I will be using this as my mock up motor for all my 4bd1t parts since the only difference is the head, injectors and pistons between the two motors. Later on I will will build this motor up using 4bd1t pistons, head and injectors and it will esentially be the super reliable 4bd1t. you could do the same if you could talk the guy down some more on price. I would say $500 is a reasonable price for that motor in that kind of condition if its complete, just buy a 4bd1t head, pistons and injectors then a rebuild kit and make it reliable.

Hey! Found a '91 NPR - runs & drives 200k miles new batteries, rebuilt trans, asking $1500. Does it sound like I'm getting closer to the target?
