Ok i bought a 76 f100 with a completely rebuilt block. The problem is it is a block form another vehicle. Since the dipstick is in the front i think it may be from a car. the only numbers i could find on it were d9ae 6015 ed 15 and below that was 8k27 can someone please help me find what make and year this motor came from so I can finish getting it running?!?

All pre 1980 302's (except the Mustang 5.0) had a timing cover dipstick and front sump oil pan. There's no way to determine what vehicle the motor was originally installed in. The casting numbers only tell you what vehicle line the engineering costs were assigned to. D9AE block is a 79 model year casting. The 8K27 tells you it was cast on September 27, 1978. It could have been originally installed in any Ford, Lincoln or Mercury car, truck or van that used a 302.

Finally back..... Its a 351 W!?!?!?

Well i dont know what its from but I finally found out the motor is a 351w. The transmission is a C-96391. The headers are headman headers and they do not fit on the passenger side because of the starter on the tranny. Can anyone tell me where i can find headers to fit or are shorties my only option?
