I just got my anti-rattle kit from mid-fifty today. Anyone got any install tips for me ? I took the old ones out ,what was left of them, what should go in first, what tools are needed, what not to do? Do you do the window wings first?any and all replies appreciated. Looking at their electric windo w regulators that bolt in the original locations. Has anyone tried these?
Now the fun begins...I hate doing doors! First, make sure all the tabs that secured the old anti-rattle strips and door run to the door came off with the old stips and didn't pull off and stay in the door. I've had that happen and guess what, you can't push the new ones in with the old ones still in. I put it together in the following order:
1. Division bar - not secured, just in place
2. Vent window
3. Door glass run
4. Door glass felt wipers
5. Regulator
6. Glass
aw why do you need anti rattle kits 53 ??? my ol' 53 i drive daily is missing most of it's seals etc . and i leave it that way so all i hear is that stuff not the bad sounds !!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!! white hall eh ... well if ya ever get to springfield and see a faded mettalic green 53 running around it be me . give a wave !! later !!!
Hey Kevin,I'll keep an eye out for ya. I go to Springfield quite a bit. I remember my Dad's 53 windows and rattles and it drove me nuts. Have you ever brought it to Lone Horn steakhouse ? I seen one there one saturday it parked in the corner of the lot .I always notice an old ford. It'll be a couple more years before I can get mine out of the garage, but when I do look for me in Springfield . Keep on Truckin!
