The best deal i have found is about $850..... its for the pro comp K4016b. Its a 6" for superduty, 8" for the X, but its the cheapest lift i've found with 4 new leafs ( no blocks). Just google k4016b to find the cheapest dealer
I thought the k4018b was the lift for the excursion? Will the one you listed work without major modifications? I mean $50 for 2" is tempting. It's gonna make my 35's lookk small now!Whre did you find it for $850 shipped? Thanks
the k0418b is the 4" superduty/ 6" x lift.... i was told by a tech from pro comp that all the lifts are the same platform, just that the x sits 2" lower, so where a SD is gonna get 4", the x is gonna gain 6". They said they dont offer anything over 6 for the X because rollover/top heavy issues. If you go for the k4016b you get rear leaves insted of block/ aal. Hell.... for a little more you can get the k4026b 8" SD and get 10" on the X......... FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Mike regearing is for the tire size not lift size. If you go higher then 35's expect to regear to at least 410's if not higher for tires bigger then 37's. Also a tire bigger then 37's you may need some steering help also. Once a truck begins lifting above the 6 inch mark a lot more comes into play. I have the procomp 6inch lift on mine with the MX6 adjustable shocks. I would definately suggest the adjustable or res. shocks. The ride is much nicer. Let us know what you get. And yes 35's would be way too small for an 8inch lift. too much wheel well. As for the price that is pretty good. I got mine from 4wheelonline.com
Going with the k4016b superduty lift, will I have to get new brake lines and a new driveshaft? What are the hidden costs of running a 8" lift? Do I need to purchase the driveshaft alignment for any of the pro comp lifts? I don't mind an 8" lift just don't want to have toreplace a bunch of things to do it?Thanks
I take it, like most excursions your not gonna be doing any hard wheeling, the brake lines after moved with parts from the kit, will flex just fine. Rear driveshaft has plenty of movement. front driveshaft make have vibration unless extended......but how often are you in 4wd on the road anyway
This is the cheapest i found it. 829.99 shipped. Talked with Mike at Sportztrailers.com and he refered me to procomp. I did talk with the engineers at procomp on the k4016b 6.5 lift kit and indeed you can use this on our X's. BUT!!!......there will be driveshaft modification needed.
Now with that being said there is a 4" kit that will give us an actual 6" lift #k4018b, this kit requires nothing to be done to the drive shaft but you can only go to a 35" tire.
Talking with these guys at procomp gave me alot of insite and knowledge, i didnt know that the k4016b kit would actually raise our X's 8". the cost on the k4018b will be 815.00 shipped and both kits come in about 7-10 days.
I am very new to all this but i dug around for info on this subject, here are some good contact numbers for you if needed
I hope this helps all of you, these guys are aware of this forum and are ready if any of you want to place an order with them, let them know that Greg sent you and they will know what you are taking about. I already placed my order for the k4018b kit and am very excited to get it and put it on.
Thanks alot for the link. You stated that shipping was included in the price as well. If so that is an awesome price. I will be ordering after pay day tommorow then. Thanks for all your help and timely responses
