While that setup is cool as hell, for 100 bucks, I can open my hood a few times a year...

I carry something similar, but a backup plan would be good in case it goes dead. I might buy a half-decent set of jumpers and two of the connectors from Grainger's and see if I can't come up with some kind of decent setup- it would give me a project at least

Welding cable works for that kind of stuff, can carry huge amperage without any worries...
