hey guys, im fixing to pull my engine out this week to send it out to the machine shop. can ya'll give me some advice on a cam.to use-my truck will be used for off-road, some towing, it will rarely see the highway. what pistons are good to use with the 400. i hear alot of talk on Ohio Pistons, but i cant find anyone who sells them. what other choices do i have with pistons to get my compression up.
thanx gabriel
I have one I need to rebuild as soon as the weather breaks and spring comes - should be about June.
I plan to use a Comp cam in the 268H grind. Jegs has a listing and pn for 351M/400's
I only have info I've copied from other sites, so it might be worth all of what it costs you - lol Ohio Pistons also sold under Badger, Nylen and Ertel brand names. For the 400, the pn is 400-100F. Ph # 626 869 0270
I don't know who or what this connects you to - not much help I realize, but I was just going to get on the phone and see where it leads. If you go this route, I'd appreciate any info on your success.
Tim
you can try paw for them, or your engine builder should be able to get them. or you can use 351c pistons and bush the rods for the pins to fit. once again the engine builder knows the way.
