thermostat housing

Can anyone provide me with an application for the housing on this motor? I need the 90 degree angle and the threaded bung for a sender. Thanks, Joe.

Your local parts house stocks these. look for a 79-95 Mustang 5.0 housing.

The 1962/67 221/260/289 t/stat housing (C3OZ-8592-A) is a plain jane-no threaded hole.
1968 and later is the type you want...there are (at least) three different ones.

C9OZ-8592-A ~ 1968/86 passenger cars 302/351W (except 1979/95 Mustangs)

D5ZZ-8592-A ~ 1975/78 Mustang II 302

D5TZ-8592-A ~ 1973/96 F Series trucks with a 302. Also used on 1979/95 Mustangs.

The same t/stat housing gasket (C3OZ-8255-A) is used on all.

They're made by two different companies, but both fit the same applications.

Well, I meant that they are different from Ford Racing crate motor. the one that Advance has is threaded in such a manner that the sender for the electric fan I have installed would prtrude into the thermostat itself. the one on the FR motor has a raised bung that should place it above the stat. Make sense? They are both 90 degree housings, but the threaded bung is completely different.

I see what you mean now, I never paid attention to the pics as far as that aspect went. In any case, the application is a 87-93 Mustang 5.0 H.O., plus a few others.
