fuel filter

can i get a fuel filter from like napa or advance auto or walmart or do i have to get it only from ford thanks in advance

A lot of guys buy them online becuase they save a lot of $. You don't have to buy a Motorcraft filter. Last time I went to a Ford dealer they hiked up their fuel filter price like $20.

Wix are pretty good filters. http://www.wixfilters.com/wheretobuy/index.asp

Just make sure you buy a quality filter.

I'm running the Racor from Geno's now -- looks exactly like the Motorcraft I pulled out. IIRC, Racor makes the Motorcraft filter.

damn wish i wouldve thought bout that now...im changin my oil and such today..switchin to rotella 5w40 synthetic and decided to change my fuel filter...i guess i have to stock up for next time... thanks for the help

The NAPA gold is a Wix filter. They are not the cheapest, but you have to figure in teh have it now factor.

IIRC they are just over thirty, but don't quote me. I haven't put one in mine in...well...the maintenance freaks on here would not appreciate it. It was GASP April...of last April! I know, I just keep forgetting. It looks like I will be buying a new house with a BIG shop of my own so I won't have to worry about getting everything done in the driveway or in a buddies/works shop.
