I was out on the ice this past weekend ice fishing and got my 05 F150 stuck in the snow and when I went to use the Low Range 4X4 nothing happened!! Just so you all know Yes I had it in nuetral and yes I had my foot on the break. Is there a fuse or something that controls the low range. The 4X4 high worked great.
Bill
How long did you wait. If you have the SOF (Shift On The Fly) switch, your 4x4 ECU will wait until you tranny AND Transfercase have lowered in internal speed until they shift. I was told by a Ford rep, that some times "It takes a while."
I was stuck in about 2-3ft of mud for about 5 minutes. YES I WAS BOTTOMED OUT but only in the front. It finally shifted to 4x4 LO and I was out in no time.
If problems persist, I would jump under the truck next time you get a chance and lube the joints that control the Transfer Case as well as your U-Joints...
