Anyone ever use one of these? All of the mechanics I work with have them (a different brand) and swear by them. I was just wondering if anyone has used the Power Probe (1,2,or 3) and what they think of them>?
You mean a logic probe? Yes I have one. Made by Mac Tools, it has 2 led's in it, and a power and a ground, and the probe itself. You can check for polarity also, as they light up red or green.
A couple other guys have the same one with a red coiled cable (mine is straight) and they added battery post clamps. Mine still has alligator clips.
I mostly use it as a test light though, but not every day. Paid for itself though.
I have the Power Probe 3 it is a great tool. It is so handy being able to add power or ground to something instead of screwing around with test lights. And it also nice it tells you if it is a ground circuit or a power circuit. I paid 170 off of the Mac truck but I have seen them cheaper elsewhere. The voltmeter is nice but if you are on a budget I would just get the Power Probe 2. You will not regret buying it that is for sure.
