I have an interview

Tomorrow at 1pm I have an interview at a company. I compiled about 15 questions to ask the interviewer. I think maybe I have to many questions I want to ask. Should I reduce the questions? Also I have them wrote down, should I take the paper in with me tha I wrote the questions down on? Thanks Oh here are the questions I plan to ask..

Why is this position availabe?
What is the typical day like? IE Hours worked and OT
What will be the greatest challenge being employeed here?
What are some of the perks and lows of the job?
Can you tell me about benefits I can recieve?
IS the pay schedule weekly or bi-weekly?
Is there any training I must recieve before going onto the floor, or is it all hands on training?
Do I meet the qualifications for the job?
How soon do you expect to make a decision?
If Offered the Job, how soon would I need to start?

Thanks for the help and let me know if I shouldnt ask some of the questions, or add a question I really should ask. Again Thank you

when i interview aaplicants i usually like it when they come in prepared with notes and such... i am mixed on the questions...most of the time i am ok with them asking several questions but it depends on how the interview went... sometimes i just dont have the patience for it,,, i will usually let them ask two and then ask them why they chose those two and not the others..

1)could you explain the Safety record of the company and the safety program?
2)Instead of "how soon do you expect to make a decision" Can i call you (wednesday) (pick a day 2 to 3 days out) to see if you have reached a decision?
This gives you permission to call and show your intrest and not be pushy because "he said to call", and when you call be sure to say your name and than say "you said to call after noon on Wednesday to see if you had reached a decission" (he most likely forgot that but will remember when you say it and realise you were paying attention during the interview.

as far as the interview most definatly take a notebook and take notes (if nothing else just wright stuff to look like you arre taking notes) and at the end of the interview if you are not asked if you have any questions, ask the interviewer if you could ask him a few questions.
if multiple people at the interwiew such as HR CEO COO supervisors exct direct your questions to the apropriate person.

and a little late but I always apply for jobs I don't want so I can get interviews for jobs I don't want so I can practice interviewing.

Ask, when you are eligible to use the executive bathroom.

Ask, if the Lear jet is available on weekends.

Ask, if you can pick your secretary.

"Ask, not what you can do for the company, but what the company can do for you."

Seriously, good luck on your interview.

Just go in there like you own the place and tell them if they don't like it,
They can get the heLLLL OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really just go in there confident and knowing that you have the job.
I once went for a job and said I know I have this position since it is right
there all the qualifications and my knowledge base matches what needs to be done
I will bring this company from where it is today and make it the best in this area and
in this industry!! Of course the owner was skeptical but that is what the 90 days is
for isn't it?

That's a good list of questions. I always ask how long they've been with the company and how they foresee the company's future.

Some suggestions:

Maintain eye contact during the interview.
Don't feel rushed to answer questions, it's OK to think for a bit first.
Ask the questions in an inquisitive tone, don't come acrross as accusatory or negative.
Answer questions concisely, don't get long winded.
Bring a notepad and pen to write things down.
If they have a website, check it out carefully, some of your questions may be answered there.
Do a Google search on the company before the interview.
Be aware of your body language and positioning at all times.
Make darn sure your resume does not have typos! (My favorite - Detailed Orientated)
If they offer a tour of the facility, that's a great sign! If not, ask for a tour. If they aren't serious about considering you, you won't get a tour.

Best of luck to you!!

If you were interviewing with me.......
1. Might not be any of your business.
2. Fair question, honest answer.
3. Honestly depends on the person. Maybe ask "What do you perceive as...."
4,5,6. Perks, Benis, Pay schedule are better discussed if/when you get an offer.
7. Training requirements is a great question.
8. Don't ask if you qualify, you are there to prove you do, not ask if you do.
9. Fair question
10. Also a fair question.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but dress accordingly.

But don't wear a dress.

Got to agree with Buckarcher. I preferred the people I hired to be able to answer my questions and ask their's without having to refer to notes.

avoid "babbling".. we are taught to allow for periods of quiet during an interview...the reasoning behind this is the applicant gets nervous and thinks that they should be talking... they get nervous and begin to babble...its amazing what they will admit to when the start..

I don't know if you have had the interview, but here are some of my standby's

1. Assuming we move forward, what is a typcial career path for someone at this company

2. What are the top 3 qualities you look for in an employee (then match those to your strengths"

3. What do you see as the biggest challenge for me in the new role (assumptive close, gives you a chance to show skill set)

This is not really a questions, but GET THE THANK YOU LETTER IN THE MAIL THE NEXT DAY. This should be a hard-copy letter, not an email. In the letter, recap the top 3-4 skills you have that matched up to the requirements for the job.

Some questions should be answered by the interviewer during his description / mission statement. Some questions may not even be relevant during a first interview as many interviewers will get into bennies until 2nd or third interviews.

Keep in mind that It is difficult to sell yourself while asking questions. If you come across as interrogating the interviewer you probably won't have to be to concerned about what his answers are.

Why is this position available? I agree that is not relevant and the interviewer may not be impressed.
What is the typical day like? IE Hours worked and OT Just leave it about a typical day at this point.
What will be the greatest challenge being employed here? Good question
What are some of the perks and lows of the job? Not sure what you are asking here and the interviewer may not either.
Can you tell me about benefits I can recieve? Better for second interview if not already addressed by the interviewer
IS the pay schedule weekly or bi-weekly? OK...but, does it really matter?
Is there any training I must recieve before going onto the floor, or is it all hands on training? OK
Do I meet the qualifications for the job? Good question...towards the end of the interview
How soon do you expect to make a decision? Has a time-line been established to fill this position?
If Offered the Job, how soon would I need to start? Answered by question above.

Good luck.
