Just a quick, unimportant question. I was riding with an employee and noticed the gas cap on his 2006 said something like Ford recommends BP gas. I had a 2004 at the shop when I got back so I checked an it just had a plain cap.
When did Ford start selling advertisements on their gas caps? I've got other 06's & 07's I will check if I remember when they are around. I just thought one of you could enlighten me.
I think BP must have paid Ford to endorse their gas. It's funny because BP isn't even one of the "top-tier" gasoline brands. Several of the BP stations here in town just got their franchises yanked by BP because they were caught selling off-brand gasoline and passing it off as BP. Man am I glad I don't buy their gas.
Noticed it on my gas cap also...I suspect that with Ford's economic woes, they'll soon be recommending (for money) certain brands of antifreeze, oil, tires, wiper blades, etc, etc, etc.
Well I checked some other trucks this morning. I found 2 06's that do not have it, one that does, and 1 07 that does. None of the 06 or 07 diesels have any advertising.
