Stealthsub console idea

I picked up an 02 Excursion PSD a few months ago and have been reading through the boards since. I wanted to add a little more bottom end to the stereo and I found a good deal on a JVC stealthsub for the center console. Install looks pretty straightforward but wanted some thoughts on hooking it all up.

I plan on keeping the factory radio at least for now since it has steering controls as well as rear seat controls in the console.

It looks like most people will just tap into one of the rear door speakers to give the sub it's single but I wasn't sure if that unbalance would throw off the factory stereo at all. In my F150 I had a Clarion Camo sub that had basically a T-Harnass that tapped the rear speakers and then back, made install very easy.

I know i'll have to pull power and remote turn on for the amp through but I thought maybe I could pull the single for the amp from the rear console's headphone jack. The amps I looked at have high and low input, so I could see what would sound best.

Any thoughts, or should I just do it the old-fashioned way?

Thanks
